What does Mount Hagen offer?
Mount Hagen organic instant freeze dried coffee was the first certified organic instant coffee in the world. This coffee has special appeal for those interested in organic coffee with the convenience of an instant. It's great for travelers, campers, and small households. Made from 100% arabica beans, Mount Hagen organic instant coffee is shade grown at higher elevations which produces a naturally flavorful, yet mild taste. One 3.53 oz. jar yields approximately 60 generous cups of delicious coffee.
For those that love coffee but don't want the caffeine, there is Mount Hagen instant organic decaf coffee. Mount Hagen instant organic decaf coffee uses a patented process involving just water and carbon dioxide to extract virtually all of the caffeine without removing the rich aroma and full-bodied taste. A 3.53 oz. jar yields approximately 60 generous cups of delicious decaffeinated coffee.
We also offer our organic instant coffee and our instant organic decaf coffee in single serve packets.
For companies needing organic coffee as an ingredient in their products, we can supply you with Mount Hagen organic instant coffee in bulk quantites. Please contact us for details.
What is the shelf life on a 3.53oz jar? Im not finding an expire date.
Response: You should see a code similar to the following example: 11.06.17 L8168. This code reads as follows - "11.06.17" is the expiration date in the YY.MM.DD format, so the product would expire on June 17, 2011. "L8168" is the production code - L = an internal lot code, 8 is the year produced, 168 is the day of the year produced, so this product was produced on the 168th day of 2008 which is June 17, 2088. The product carries a 3 year shelf life from date of production. Please let us know if you have further questions.
Do you offer "savings coupons" on Mount Hagen Decaffeinated coffee.
Response: From time to time we offer coupons and/or free samples of our products. We don't have any at this time, but if you sign up for our newsletter and/or follow us on twitter and facebook, our offers are posted there.
We LOVE this product, but are trying very hard to cut down on our packaging waste. Is there any way to buy in bulk, in a single container? Many thanks!
Response: We are working with the manufacturer in Germany to see if we can create a bulk package, but at this time we do not have this option available. Hopefully soon and sorry we don't have it yet.
I am pregnant and was wondering exactly how many Mgs of caffeine your instant decaf contains.
Response: The details are as follows: Mount Hagen Organic instant Decaf: caffeine per 100g of Mount Hagen Instant Organic Decaffeinated coffee. Also, 1 teaspoon (approx. 2-3g) has less than 6-9mg of caffeine per teaspoon.
Please let us know if you need further info. Thank you
I have Crohn's Disease. The first things doctors tell you is no more coffee ever. I cried. Found this in Whole Foods. This is the only coffee I can drink that does not cause acid reflux. Don't know how they do it. PLEASE never change your formula. So many companies do, thinking people won't know. Please make larger containers. Thank you.
Mount Hagen is by FAR, the best instant cofee I've ever tasted. I prefer it to fresh brewed and would compare it to Illy fresh brewed for taste. Excellent product and fantastic that it's organic!!!
The jars are sold for around $8.50 each on Vitacost.com I use Vitacost for buying brand name vitamins and organic body products that are generally 30% more expensive at Whole Foods in Manhattan. Avoid Vitacost's NSI proprietary brand that is made in China and not regulated at all...those are poor quality...also, avoid their free shipping offer that's in a pop up ad at the end of the checkout process... that eventually bills you monthly.....other than that, they have some of the best prices for products like Mt.Hagen coffee on the web!
Where is written the expiration date in the 1.75oz single serve box?
Response: On the bottom in the white box.
Are Mount Hagen organic products Fairly Traded?
Response: While Mount Hagen purchases fairly traded coffee beans, they are not certified as fair trade because the cost of certification would increase the retail price of the product significantly.
Nice to have purse size when out. But how about larger jars for home?
Response: Hi Kay - We do have the 3.5 oz. jars that serve 60 cups of coffee. We are looking into producing something larger. Thank you for enjoying Mt. Hagen.
